From the Operating Room to Everyday Skincare: Why I Started Dermatiq
Share
Every physician has a moment that changes the way they see the world. For me, it happened inside the operating room.
For years, I performed Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancer patients—removing tumors, reconstructing, and witnessing the skin at its most vulnerable. But I also witnessed its remarkable ability to regenerate, given the right conditions.
And over time, I noticed a gap: What most people believe about “skincare” is entirely different from what the skin actually needs to repair itself. Patients relied on harsh acids, overloaded ingredient lists, or trendy claims that promised quick fixes. But beneath these temporary improvements, the real issues—barrier damage, chronic inflammation, impaired cell renewal—remained unaddressed.
This repeated pattern became the foundation of Dermatiq.
Why I Started Creating My Own Formulations
Because I wanted to bring “surgical-level repair logic” into daily skincare. Not more complicated—but more precise, scientific, and biologically aligned. Clinical repair focuses on three fundamentals:
1. Stability
The skin repairs best in a safe, low-irritation environment.
2. Delivery
What matters is not how many ingredients a product contains— but whether the skin can actually absorb them. This is why I use bio-cellulose as a core delivery system.
3. Clinical-Grade Actives
Ingredients work only at the correct concentration and stability. EGF, peptides, niacinamide, and stabilized vitamin C must be protected and delivered properly to be effective.
Three Lessons the Operating Room Taught Me
① Repair is a science—not a mix of “good-sounding ingredients.”
After surgery, the skin needs barrier restoration and regenerative signaling, not exfoliation or aggressive actives.
② Real improvement means restoring how the skin functions.
When the skin can rebuild lipids, renew itself, and repair micro-damage, a healthy appearance naturally follows.
③ Less is More—precision outperforms complexity.
A streamlined formula with a few well-studied actives is far more effective than a long list of unproven ingredients.
My Goal: Make Professional Repair Accessible
The guiding principles behind every Dermatiq product:
-
Clinical-strength, evidence-based actives
-
Delivery systems the skin can actually utilize
-
Zero unnecessary or high-sensitizing ingredients
-
Built on the clinical pillars of penetration, stability, regeneration
The operating room taught me to respect the complexity of human skin.
Dermatiq is my way of turning that knowledge into something you can use every day.

Designed for real skin. For your skin.
Whether your skin is sensitive, reactive, fatigued, or simply stressed— you deserve a system that activates repair instead of masking problems.
This is why Dermatiq exists. This is why I continue to research. Repair is the skin’s most essential ability. My job is to help it return.
